Refund Policy
A legal disclaimer
Last updated: 25/11/2025
Thank you for choosing Damson & Clover. As a private chef service, each booking requires advance planning, ingredient sourcing and the reservation of exclusive dates. Our refund policy ensures fairness while protecting the time and resources required to deliver your event.
Deposits
All bookings require a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total quoted price to secure the date.
Once the deposit has been paid:
• your event date is reserved exclusively for you
• planning and preparation begins
• ingredients and suppliers may be arranged
For this reason, deposits are non-refundable under all circumstances, including cancellation or date changes.
Balance Payments
The remaining balance is due 7 days before the event.
If the balance is not received by this date, Damson & Clover reserves the right to cancel the booking.
In this case, the deposit will not be refunded.
Client Cancellations
If you cancel your booking:
• More than 14 days before the event:
Deposit is non-refundable. No further payment is required.
• 14–8 days before the event:
50% of the total booking value will be charged.
• 7 days or fewer before the event:
100% of the total booking value will be charged.
This is because ingredients will have been purchased and your date cannot be rebooked at short notice.
Date Changes
Requests to change the event date will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
If the new date is unavailable, the cancellation policy above applies.
Cancellations by Damson & Clover
In the unlikely event that we must cancel due to unforeseen circumstances such as illness, injury or events beyond our control, we will:
• offer an alternative date where possible, or
• provide a full refund of any payments received
No further compensation will be offered.
Refunds for Menu Changes or Guest Reductions
Once menus and guest numbers are confirmed:
• reductions in guest numbers
• changes that reduce overall cost
may not qualify for refunds, as ingredients and staffing may already have been arranged.
Any adjustments are at the discretion of Damson & Clover.
Non-Refundable Costs
The following are always non-refundable:
• 25% deposit
• any specialist ingredients already purchased
• external supplier costs incurred on your behalf
• travel or accommodation booked specifically for your event
Force Majeure
Damson & Clover is not liable for cancellations caused by circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to:
• severe weather
• illness
• transport issues
• supply shortages
• government restrictions
Refunds in these situations will follow the policy outlined above.
